Michael Essien scores ''goal of the season''

Michael Essien celebrates his debut goal for Greek side Panathinaikos

Ghana international Michael Essien launched himself with his debut goal for Panathinaikos as they thumbed a 2-0 win over Levadiakos in the Greek Super League on Sunday afternoon. 


A pass from the right was artfully delivered to Essien by former Napoli midfielder Giandomenico Mesto and the former Chelsea midfielder punched it with a commanding effort that ricocheted off the bar before sailing in with the shot-stopper completely beaten.

The goal is Essien's first in his Panathiniakos career since joining them from AC Milan in the summer.
