Carlos Tevez headbutted in the first Superclassico as FIVE red cards were shown.

Carlos Tevez in action for Boca Juniors

This was just to be a friendly game. Instead, the first Superclásico of the year between sworn rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors went from hard fought, to just plain nasty.

The game started with each club fielding eleven players as expected at the Jose Maria Minella stadium. But by the time the referee blew the final whistle in Mar de Plata, Boca had just eight players and River had nine.
In total, the ref handed out 14 cards: 9 yellow and 5 red.
Boca saw Jonathan Silva, Gino Peruzzi and Daniel Díaz all get reds early; River had Jonathan Maidana sent off for headbutting Carlos Tevez (!) – and Pisculichi, who scored the only goal in the game, was tossed as well after the ensuing melee.
The game got so out of hand that the fans got into it, with River Plate’s goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero hit on the neck by a projectile thrown into the field by a fan.

The two clubs face each other again this upcoming Saturday...... can't wait.
