OPINION: Leicester city will win the EPL.

Leicester city won the Football league championship 2013/2014
After watching that tremendous strike from Jamie Vardy hitting the back of the net in the second goal of Leicester city’s triumph over Liverpool last night, I have no doubts that, these cunning foxes will be crown champions of the EPL at the end of the season.
Going through their matches played so far this campaign and the kind of team Claudio Ranieri has assembled reminds me so well of Kenny Daglish’s Blackburn Rovers of 1994/95 season where  the managerial know-how of Kenny Daglish, and the prolific striker partnership of Alan Shearer  and Chris Sutton won the trophy for the Rovers after 81years.

Claudio Ranieri managed Chelsea from 2000 to 2004
Claudio Ranieri’s effort at Leicester has been very phenomenal; taking nothing away from Nigel Pearson who left great foundations for him to build upon. The ex-Chelsea manager has establish a strong belief in the squad that they can go toe to toe with the bigger boys in the league. He’s designed a compactible knit squad that all know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and I think this is such a big basis for their great campaign so far.

Leicester city has played 24 games so far dis campaign winning 14, losing 2 and drawing 8 and stays on top the table 3 points clear of second place Manchester city. Along this journey, the blue and whites have beat teams like Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham at their own backyard, venues where the big boys go and fumble. This is a team showing massive contention for the title.

I can see them winning the title due to the belief instil in them and the in depth quality players like Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez has shown so far this season.

Furthermore their confidence, togetherness, winning mentality and most importantly the talent and midfield control of N’golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater is verily enough to see them finish on the top at worse third at the end of the season, booking them an automatic ticket for a Champions League spot. It does however add up to their bill being able to keep Vardy and Mahrez in this transfer window.

I really do feel excited for Leicester’s, and these team of ‘foxes’, having been able to stay where they are and finishing the fairytale they themselves have unitedly created till the end before possibly moving on in the summer for the big money move every player wishes for.
