OPINION: Five Players to look out for in the upcoming Ghana Premier League.

The long awaited 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League season is starting this weekend and osportsgh takes a look at 5 players to stand out this season; In no particular other, let’s take a look;



1.       ERIC BEKOE (Sekondi Hasaacas)– The ex-Asante Kotoko striker and 2007/2008 Ghana Premier league goal king hero is expected to do the do for the ‘doo’ lads. Bekoe was signed by the sekondi giants on transfer deadline and is poised to replicate his fine form he hard with Kotoko scoring 17goals and nine goals in the local league and CAF confederation cup respectively. Bekoe exhibited great level of goal scoring and with the kind of hard work and determination he is putting in; he is definitely a player to watch this season.

1.       SAMUDEEN IBRAHIM (Accra Hearts of Oak) – The ex-King Solomon FC attacking midfielder and the overall best player in the 2014/2015 GN Bank Division one league is another player tipped to be very instrumental for the phobians. Samudeen, a player whose play and antics depicts the Phobia legend Shamo Quaye is already dreaming big that his performance with the club will make him the best player ever to stay under the oak tree. Scoring four goals and making some couple of assists to help his former team in the Ghana second tier boosted his opportunities in riding over the famous Joel Fameyeh to be crown the best player last season. Samudeen is expected to be a major determinant if Accra Hearts of oak should rise up to be title contenders this season after losing out in seven years.

1.       SADICK ADAMS (Berekum Chelsea) – Another star to look up to this season is the ever sensation and former Ghana under 17 striker   Sadick Adams. One of the world's most highly rated young strikers in 2007, Adams was ranked number one in World's Soccer Top 50 most exciting teenagers feature among great footballers now like Bale, Pato, Di Maria, Aguero and Mata. He was a toast of greater number of Ghanaian football fans because of his footwork, physique, power in the right foot and clinical finishing. He will be replacing Kofi Owusu who was crown the goal king last season currently with Aswan SC in Egypt and looking forward to emulate his success this season.

1.       DAUDA MOHAMMED (Asante Kotoko)- The 18-year-old skilful striker was the second top scorer for the Porcupines after netting eight goals in the 2014/15 Premier League.He became a lofty hero when his brace against fierce rivals Hearts of Oak earned Kotoko a 2-1 away victory and pushed the Phobians into a relegation dog fight only to be saved by head-to-head rule. Having undergone a very impressive pre-season with the Ghanaian power house, Dauda will be looking to form a resolute partnership with Obed Owusu this season after the departure of Ivorian Amed Toure.

1.       YAHAYA MOHAMMED (Aduana Stars)- Yahaya ‘Lukaku’ as he is affectionately called by the Ghanaian football fans because of a look-alike  play with the Everton striker. He is one of the few strong versatile players we have in the local scene. Having excelled quiet well with the Ghana giants Asante Kotoko, Yahaya is looking forward to boost the performance of the Dormaa Ahenkro lads. His physique, eye for the ball, shooting accuracy and aerial superiority makes him very dangerous in the opponent eighteen yard box. With suppliers from players like Elvis Opoku and Daniel Darkwa, the ex-Amidaus striker could rake in more goals this season.
