Dreams FC |
Newly promoted side, Dreams FC recorded
a hard-earned goalless draw game with West African Football Academy (WAFA) at
the Sogakope Park in a high profile friendly on Saturday afternoon.
The game which was a precursory one for both sides
ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League saw few goal scoring opportunities
being created throughout the game.
The action packed game was played in three separate
halves in a space of 90 minutes, 30 minutes each.
The main action was at the centre of the field where
the likes of Razak Dauda and Emmanuel Lomotey were influential and dictated the
pace of the game in the second and third half after being outplayed by the home
team in the first thirty minutes of the encounter.
The home side nearly went into the lead after Majeed
Ashimeru connected a through pass from teammate Samuel Tetteh but Dreams FC
goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey pulled a fabulous save which drew applauds from the
few fans who watched the game.
In the 18th minute, the shot-stopper
again made a timely save to keep his side still in the game by grabbing the
ball after Samuel Tetteh’s strike ricocheted
off the lower left corner of the goal
post.
At the end of the first half which saw the home team
playing possessive football, the game turned physical with both teams using
strength to great effect in the second half.
Opportunities were far and few though Dreams FC
looked very dangerous adapting the counter attacking play with lone striker
Eric Gawu using his pace, skills and strength to his advantage.
Adroit centre-back Godfred Asante was very strong in
a central defensive partnership with Ben Nash Quansah which the WAFA attack found
it difficult to punch holes through.
The debutants who looked more determined continued
to push for that vital goal but the home side held their might at the back
until the blast of the whistle.
