John Terry is one of the best defenders to have played in the Premier League |
Arguably one of the best center backs the Premier
League has seen and letting him exit like this is quiet not acceptable.
John Terry deserves more, at least for another year. John, to a large extent
the face of Chelsea now and the club ought to provide him exceptionally
what he deserves.
Sharing the sentiments of Chelsea fans across the globe and
my home-country Ghana, I had wished that the blues having learnt something from the
mistake by letting Frank Lampard go won’t make the same mistake again.
But the
club proved everyone wrong and did otherwise by repeating same decision. Fans
are wondering why their beloved club can’t maintain legends to the end, but no
one has any justification as to why the club takes such decisions.
The management of Chelsea may think he is getting old or
cannot match the pace of the Premier League, but even his presence in the
dressing room is more than enough to instil that sense of responsibility and
motivation among the youngsters in the club. It shouldn’t always be based on
your output on the field of play but off the field and in the dressing room is
equally important.
The 35-year-old’s presence is enough inspiration to any youngster
to remain positive even in the toughest phase of their career. He is an idol
for many young defenders in England and the world as a whole and has come a
long way.
John Terry has been with the club since 1995 and that is 21
years now!! He’s been through some very difficult as well as happy times and
hence would be able to guide the players in the right way. For me, some players
are just irreplaceable and Terry is one such player. With no disrespect towards
Ivanovic, who has had a rough season so far and yet got a new contract,
surely Terry deserves one.
I believe he still has it in him to play in the Premier
League for a couple more years.
It’s going to be quiet interesting and emotional how the
fans react to the board’s decision to let go of Terry. Expecting a lot of
boos and anti-club banners.
Chelsea means everything to this legendary defender and it has
always shown on the pitch and in the dressing room given his 100% towards the
club. Doesn’t he deserve to retire at Chelsea?
